It involves a concise definition of a particular topic followed by a brief summary of its relationship to the central thesis. Essays on the other hand are written for legal purposes, such as to defend a person's rights or request the court to grant an appeal. An argument might be about a case, a person, a company, or anything else.
The topic and the way to approach it are crucial in writing an argument. The same topic can be treated in different ways depending on the author's personal preferences and likes. While the topic must have some relation to the central theme of the essay, the style should be formal and easy-to-read. It is essential to understand the topic of the essay before the first sentence is completed. One could have an article on a subject, but a particular angle cannot be covered in the beginning if there is no point about the topic. While discussing a topic, one must first know what it is all about and how to define it. While writing an argument, one must also decide which way the topic might be going. This is important because if the central argument is already going in one direction, then the topic can shift to another direction. One can write a sentence or two that is truly compelling. If the essay focuses on a certain aspect, then defining it can be easier. There are many people who would never be able to define love, happiness, or religion. It is up to the writer to define them so that he or she can write a good argument. Another very important part of a good essay is its conclusion. A good conclusion has to be thought out carefully and can't be found in one short paragraph. It must be coherent and the meaning should be clear. Many people end their essays with a statement that is relevant to the overall issue they have discussed. If the essay topic is interesting, then one should be able to write a good argument. Arguments can be written by anyone; regardless of the topic it can be handled by anyone. Writing an argument is a process where it is best to be clear about the central subject of the essay. An argument can make for a good essay but it needs to be organized. Not only should the topic be defined but the style must also be followed. Arguments will continue to evolve into better pieces of literature as readers continue to be interested in the topic.
